Carlo Greco Awarded the City of Vaughan’s 2026 Volunteer Recognition Award

Carlo Greco is a truly exceptional volunteer whose dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment have made a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents at Villa Leonardo Gambin Long-Term Care Home.

For many years, Carlo has generously given his time to support our residents, bringing warmth, kindness, and a genuine sense of community to our home. His volunteerism is rooted in a deep respect for seniors and a sincere desire to ensure that every resident feels valued, included, and connected.

Even during the challenging years of the COVID-19 pandemic, when volunteers were unable to enter long-term care homes, Carlo remained in contact. He consistently expressed how eager he was to return. His first concern was always the well-being of the residents and how soon he could spend time with them again. This dedication speaks volumes about his character and the genuine relationships he has built within our community.

When Carlo visits Villa Leonardo Gambin, he devotes his full attention to the residents. He encourages them to come out of their rooms, join activities, visit the café, and spend time socializing with others. His friendly personality and cheerful outlook help residents feel comfortable, engaged, and part of a vibrant community. Through simple but meaningful interactions, Carlo helps reduce isolation and fosters joy and companionship among those he spends time with.
Carlo’s presence brings energy and encouragement to our home. His kindness, reliability, and heartfelt commitment exemplify the true spirit of volunteerism. He does not seek recognition; rather, he volunteers because he genuinely cares about improving the lives of others.

For his years of dedication, his resilience through challenging times, and the positive impact he continues to make in the lives of our residents, we are proud to have nominated Carlo Greco for the Vaughan Volunteer Recognition Award.
